Optoma’s new 515 projector makes installation simple

Complex AV installations will be massively simplified with Optoma’s new WXGA W515 ProScene projector.

The 6,000 lumen high-specification projector, engineered for professional installations, has multiple digital connection options as well as an HDBaseT version (W515T).

The new model is equipped with a 1.8x zoom and a brilliant built-in geometric adjustment feature. This allows the installer to individually adjust each corner of the image to create a perfectly square image - ideal for image stacking, uneven walls or where a projector placement is awkward and needs to be installed at an angle.

In addition, if greater brightness is required the geometric adjustment can also be used for image stacking. This enables higher brightness to be achieved by overlaying images and has added benefits of reducing the overall cost of installation and increasing reliability.  And for a multi-projector display, Optoma’s brightness matching feature ensures precise adjustment so multiple units can be perfectly matched.

Optoma’s Head of Product Marketing, Justin Halls, said: “This new projector is extremely cost-effective when compared to an interchangeable lens product with the same brightness. Both versions feature a 1.8x zoom projection lens and lens shift to allow for easier installation – without the need for costly interchangeable lenses.”

“The geometric adjustment cuts out the need for a separate warping processor and is extremely intuitive to use.

"The HDbaseT functionality will enable integrators who need to transmit high definition video and audio, to have a simple and affordable solution which also allows them to control the projector.”

Designed for conference rooms, large classrooms, lecture theatres, museums and houses of worship, this projector is compact yet powerful. The chassis design incorporates vertical and horizontal lens shift to ensure maximum flexibility.

The wired remote functionality allows all aspects of the projector to be individually controlled without requiring line-of-sight to the projector; which is invaluable when using multiple units during live events.

Full support is provided for Crestron, Extron, AMX, PJ-Link and Telnet LAN protocols, which allow almost all functions to be controlled remotely across a network. Once installed, the model can be monitored and controlled over LAN. It can also provide email message alerts if an error occurs, a lamp fails or needs to be replaced, using Crestron Roomview™ software.

Full 3D support (via HDMI 1.4a) for various devices completes an already impressive array of features. This projector comes with built-in speakers that deliver powerful 20W audio, or an audio output is also included, enabling connection to external sound systems.

Justin added: “This projector is designed exclusively for demanding professional applications that need sharper, clearer images and presentations along with ultimate reliability.”
