New ThemeScene HD86 1080p Projector with Full Lens Shift

Taking Home Cinema picture quality to yet higher levels

Watford, 22nd October 2009 – The new ThemeScene HD86 brings Full HD 1080p unsurpassed image quality and full installation options to the ThemeScene range. This projector integrates full lens shift, a choice of high grade lenses and the latest processing technologies. Using the latest/ most recent DLP® technology from Texas Instruments the HD86 is the most powerful home cinema projector in the ThemeScene line-up with market leading ANSI contrast performance.

The latest developments in Image processing are integrated into the HD86. Optoma’s second generation of frame interpolation technology “Puremotion2” provides fluid and natural moving images by eliminating judder and motion-blurring. The Dynamical Black feature controls contrast for high impact viewing and a fully user-adjustable 9 step iris and choice of preset colour gamut’s make this projector Optoma’s most versatile yet.

The HD86 Colour Management System is both fully independent and customisable. Each colour coordinate can be fine tuned to deliver prefect picture performance or you can choose from 5 preset colour gamuts and we include 3 x HDMI v1.3 to allow 10 bit colour output.

The HD86 is designed for ease of installation with the choice of three optional lenses: standard lens (1.54-1.93), short throw lens (0.77:1) and long throw lens (1.93-2.9:1). ThemeScene also offer an  anamorphic lens for fully automated Constant Height Projection.

Optoma is committed to systematically publishing its ANSI Contrast performance. Now, for the first time, a major home cinema projector manufacturer is prepared to publish an internationally recognised and measurable ANSI contrast performance figure. ANSI Contrast is measured when the projector is simultaneously displaying both black and white – many believe that this provides a much better “real world” performance indication compared to the more common “Full On, Full Off” technique that measures the projector performance when displaying a pure black screen and then a pure white screen.

The Optoma HD86 projector will be available from selected UK retailers and online stores from the beginning of November 2009. The recommended retail price for the HD86 is:

   • HD86 with standard lens - £3299 (inc VAT)
   • HD86 with long throw lens - £3699 (inc VAT)
   • HD86 with short throw lens - £4199 (inc VAT)
