Optoma launches next generation Pico PK102 Pocket Projector

With 4GB of internal memory and built in Pico PC software

Watford, April 2010 - Following on from the huge success of the Optoma Pico PK101, Optoma has launched the next generation of Pico projector, the Pico PK102. The new Pico features 4GB of internal memory – enough to hold up to 6000 pictures or 8 hours of video. You can even display right from your laptop’s VGA connection. Fitting in the palm of your hand, the truly portable, battery-operated PK102 is perfect for sharing photos, videos and other images wherever you go!

Whilst the Pico PK102 retains its pocket-sized form-factor that contributed to the much heralded success of the original Pico (Time magazine Gadget of the Year 2008; shortlisted for T3 magazine Work Gadget of the Year 2009, amongst others), the PK102 has many new features that now make it a highly desirable business tool in addition to its entertainment abilities.

The transfer and storage of photos, movies or PowerPoint presentations onto the Pico PK102 is straight forward using the built in Pico PC software and the 4GB of internal memory. In many situations that means there is now no need to carry a source device. There’s also no need to carry a heavy and bulky power supply as the Pico PK102 has a rechargeable battery that will last up to one and a half hours and fully recharges in two, and it can run on AC via the power adapter.

However, for those times when there isn’t time, or it’s not necessary to store the files on board the Pico PK102, Optoma have added a VGA input to the specification. It was always simple to connect an iPod®, iPhone®, mobile phone, digital camera or mobile gaming devices to the Pico but with the inclusion of a VGA input, it’s now possible to use the Pico PK102 with a laptop or netbook too by connecting the supplied cable to the output source. With the launch of the Pico PK102 the pocket projector has come of age.

The Optoma Pico PK102 Projector will be available from selected UK retailers and online stores from April 2010, priced at £229. For a full specification sheet or further information visit the Optoma website www.optoma.co.uk.
