BTR100

Free the Music!

Free the music from your smartphones, tablet or computer. With the BTR100, you can wirelessly stream CD quality digital audio, via Bluetooth, directly to your home stereo system.

BTR100

Better Sound

The BTR100 sounds better than many other available Bluetooth receivers. The NuForce attention to detail ensures the components are of the finest audiophile quality. The latest version of Bluetooth and the use of both aptX and AAC codecs means that whatever technology your mobile devices – Apple, Android or Windows, your music will benefit from more dynamic range, deeper bass and crystal-clear top end.

BTR100

aptX

If your mobile device supports aptX the BTR100 can support it as well. AptX allows music signal to be sent wirelessly in significantly higher quality than that available from standard Bluetooth. Standard Bluetooth codec (SBC) has variable performance and its weaknesses are very apparent to music lovers including a reduction in high end clarity, muddiness or dullness. The aptX codec works to ensure consistently excellent quality when music data is transferred wirelessly via Bluetooth connection With almost CD quality. Listeners will instantly experience significantly greater dynamics and infinitely more detail from the music.

BTR100

AAC

AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) was designed to achieve better sound quality than MP3 at similar bit rates. Unlike aptX, it is supported by iOS devices. Apple implements AAC over Bluetooth at about 250 kbps - near CD quality.

"Bluetooth has evolved into a handy way wirelessly to hook up your phone to your home hi-fi equipment, but a lot of home hi-fi lacks Bluetooth capability. The answer is to add a Bluetooth receiver, a small device often powered through USB that turns an audio stream over wireless into an analogue stereo feed into your hi-fi’s RCA or jack sockets.
Optoma’s new BTR100 goes one step better, optionally delivering the stereo output optically into your hi-fi’s TosLink socket for the very best audio quality."

"Unlike some other Bluetooth adapters the Optoma BTR100 is up-to-date with these codecs (AAC and aptX), as well as being able to do them full justice by optionally injecting the output signal digitally into your hi-fi amplifier through an optical link. If your hi-fi isn’t TosLink equipped the BTR100 will still work through a conventional 3.5mm or RCA analogue stereo with respectable fidelity."

"It’s certainly one of the better consumer-grade Bluetooth receivers on the market, although strict audiophiles (if they deign to dabble in Bluetooth at all) will probably want to pay around £100 more for something along the lines of the Arcam rBlink."

"Unlike most of its competitors, the BTR 100  makes music streaming in CD quality possible via its optical output. Also, it supports Aptx and AAC codes which reaches higher sound quality than the standard Bluetooth codec SBC."

"It is not necessary to replace your old hifi system, if you want to enjoy your music via Bluetooth now. The idea to connect the BTR 100 with your Hifi system to reach high quality music via Bluetooth, is even a reason to keep you old Hifi System. Also the impressive and stable Bluetooth connection should be underlined and  rewarded."
