Job Description

We are looking to recruit a part time Finance Assistant – Accounts Payable to play an integral part within the Finance Department. This is a permanent position. The role provides an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking to develop their career in Finance while maintaining a work life balance.

You will take the responsibility for delivering a high-quality service including timely and accurately processing of supplier invoices, supplier reconciliations, dealing with internal and external inquiries, and assisting with month end closing.  

The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of accounting principles including VAT, experience of working in a high-volume environment, have good Excel skills, excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Previous experience of working within Accounts Payable and experience with Oracle ERP system is preferred.


Key Areas

  • Transaction processing within Accounts Payable ledger
  • Monitoring the authorisation of invoices in line with Company policies
  • Entering and coding AP invoices
  • Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies
  • Making supplier payment runs in multiple currencies
  • Assisting with month end closing
  • Supplier account set-up and amendment
  • Assisting with audit queries relating to AP
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required by Finance Manager
  • Carrying out user acceptance testing on Oracle ERP Cloud

Part-time, 6 hours per day- 30 hours per week

Essential Knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles including VAT
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Working knowledge of an ERP system within finance
  • Good GCSEs particularly Maths and English
  • Educated to at least A level
