Optoma unveils DARBEE version of its GT1080e gaming projector

Gamers can now experience extra levels of depth, clarity and realism with the new Optoma GT1080Darbee projector, just launched.

Building on the success of the popular GT1080e, the new projector has integrated DARBEE Visual Presence™ image enhancement technology. It also features an Enhanced Gaming Mode with an impressive 16ms response time – perfect for games that depend on rapid reactions.

The GT1080Darbee is the second in Optoma’s DARBEE range following the launch of its HD28DSE home entertainment projector. This technology, exclusive to Optoma projectors, brings exceptional levels of depth and realism to imagery.

The bright, 3,000-lumen projector produces vivid colours whether playing action-packed games or watching TV shows, live sports and movies.

Its short throw lens allows the GT1080Darbee to be placed on a coffee table and project a stunning 100 inch Full HD 1080p image on a flat surface or screen from just over a metre away.

Optoma EMEA’s Head of Marketing, Joe Ahmed, said: “We’re excited to launch our first short throw lens design projector featuring DARBEE Visual Presence™ technology, which is exclusive to Optoma projectors. The end result is revolutionary levels of depth, clarity, object separation and realism for an immersive and lifelike viewing experience.”

The Enhanced Gaming Mode setting is designed to optimise the projector for lightning response times, maximum contrast and vivid colours.

Two HDMI inputs are a huge benefit of the GT1080Darbee. Games consoles, Blu-ray players or digital television set top boxes can be simultaneously connected via HDMI, making switching between sources literally the push of a button. MHL connectivity makes it easy to wirelessly share content from MHL devices such as the Optoma HDCast Pro, Roku's streaming stick, tablets and smartphones, to connect directly to the projector and play back music and video, view pictures and even share webpages and other user generated digital media content.

For added convenience, the GT1080Darbee comes complete with an integrated speaker that delivers 16W audio with exceptional sound quality. Despite the small dimensions of the projector, the level of audio created will easily fill a living space. An audio output is also included, enabling connection to external sound systems.
