Deborah Wilbee from The Jolly Sportsman received her prize of a new 1080p Optoma projector, ceiling mount and screen after winning Optoma’s Best Pub Poll national competition. Rosalyn White from Optoma presented her with the prize on Thursday 29 May.

Deborah said: “I am absolutely thrilled.  This will not only provide a bigger picture for the games but also create a great atmosphere for our customers watching the football.”

Nick Price, Optoma’s Territory Manager, said: “We are delighted The Jolly Sportsman has won the competition.  The name is very apt.  I am looking forward to visiting the pub to see the football.  Watching sport on a big screen like this really makes you feel part of the action.”

Optoma launched the national competition in the run up to the World Cup and received hundreds of nominations from right across the UK. The Jolly Sportsman in Chesham pipped all other pubs to the post and received the most votes due to its friendly atmosphere.

All of the nominators were entered into a draw to win a home projector.  This was won by one of The Jolly Sportsman’s regulars, electrician Steve Turner.

Steve said: “I am really happy and surprised to win.  It will mean I can watch the football on a big screen at home as well in the pub.”

The pub won a bright (3,500 lumens) full HD 1080p resolution projector which incorporates BrilliantColor™ multi-colour processing technology for stunning, vibrant colours.

Steve won a bright (2,500 lumens), small, sleek and stylish Optoma projector for home.  Easy to use with games consoles, DVD players, digital satellite/TV boxes, & PCs/laptops, the projector is perfect for watching the football, gaming or catching a movie on the big screen at home.

Optoma uses DLP® technology for its image quality and unmatched reliability. The reflective nature of DLP® micro-mirror technology provides highly efficient bright images with great contrast whilst maintaining precise colour accuracy and natural, real-world colour reproduction.

The Jolly Sportsman beat over 40 other pubs that were nominated via Optoma’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/OptomaUK

The Jolly Sportsman based on Eskdale Avenue in Chesham is a friendly pub and hosts a number of events throughout the week. It has a big beer garden, Sky Sports & BT Sport, a pool table and a wide selection of wines, beers and ales. www.jollysportsmanchesham.co.uk
