HD50: Movie fans can get the cinema experience with Optoma’s new 1080p home projector

Movie fans can now enjoy a super-size cinema-quality picture in their own home with the new Optoma HD50 projector, launched today.

Optoma’s Head of Product Marketing, Justin Halls, said: “Film buffs know that the bigger the image, the greater the immersion. And for the best results you fill your field of vision, without being too close to the screen.”

This full 3D 1080p projector is packed with features – perfect for watching films, TV shows and sporting events in vivid clarity with pure, deep colours and high contrast thanks to deeper blacks and crisp whites.

Easy connectivity

Two HDMI inputs allow Blu-ray players or digital television set top boxes to be simultaneously connected via HDMI, making switching between sources literally the push of a button. It can even be turned into a smart display by connecting a smartphone or tablet with a single cable using MHL to stream videos and share photos on the big screen.

Simple installation

The stylish white finish complements any living space and a 1.5x zoom along with vertical lens shift ensures real flexibility for installation. This makes it easier to position the projector and enables a wider choice of screen sizes, making the HD50 the perfect option for any home.

PureMotion

The HD50 uses sophisticated frame-interpolation technology. This advanced motion control processing eliminates motion blurring or image judder, even in high-speed action films or fast-paced sports.

Colour Management System (CMS)

The innovative colour management system enables the HD50 to display accurate life-like colours to best match any viewing environment. This unique feature provides the flexibility to fine-tune the colour settings to the Rec. 709 standard for optimal precision.

UltraDetail

This technology ensures all the information contained in an image is faithfully reproduced on the screen giving a stunning crystal clear, pin-sharp picture.

Dynamic Black Technology

Dynamic Black Technology gives more depth to the image by smoothly adjusting the lamp output, based on the brightness information of each frame; to create a stunning high contrast ratio. Bright scenes appear crisp and clear, while dark scenes remain detailed with deep blacks and exceptional light and shade detail.

24 fps

Most movies are shot at 24 frames per second (fps). To preserve the purity of the original image, the HD50 can accept high definition sources at 24 fps to display movies exactly as the director intended.

Full 3D

The HD50 can display true 3D content from almost any 3D source, including 3D Blu-ray players, 3D broadcasting and the latest generation games consoles. Support for 144Hz rapid refresh rate provides ultra-smooth flicker free images. The 3D-sync port can connect to an Optoma System – required for 3D viewing (sold separately).

The fully-rechargeable ZF2100 wireless 3D glasses are designed to provide bright high contrast images, while eliminating any issues of emitter placement, limited range and potential interference commonly experienced when using infra-red.
