Optoma launches new projectors for education and public sector

Optoma has just launched two new projectors specifically for public sector and education that can be managed and monitored easily over a network.

The lightweight and portable W351 and X351 projectors are perfect for installing in the classroom or for taking to external meetings in their handy carry bag.  They also come with a three year De-Re projector warranty and three year lamp warranty.

The projectors’ networking capabilities make it easy to manage these remotely via the RJ45.  Compatible RoomView® software can be used to power on/off, monitor, manage and control up to 250 projectors at the same time from any computer.  This allows IT technicians to monitor and turn off the projectors remotely and does not waste lamp hours by leaving projectors running all night. The projectors come with a number of security features including password protection and the ability to fit a Kensington lock, which means they can be locked easily to a laptop trolley.

Optoma projectors use DLP® technology which ensures the projectors retain their out-of-the-box image quality and brightness throughout their lifetime and, as there are no filters to remove and clean, they need no maintenance.

Nick Price, Optoma’s Territory Manager, said: “The new projectors differ in terms of resolution, brightness and throw ratio but both have a low overall cost of ownership and have the excellent networking functionality.  The easy maintenance and remote management functionality are especially important for our education customers who may have a dozen or more projectors to monitor and maintain. These projectors are part of our education/public sector range, which also includes the new short throw W316ST, launched last month.”

The three-year De-Re warranty means that, in the unlikely event it is found to be faulty, the projector will be de-installed and replaced.  Optoma’s dedicated UK-based helpline is also on hand for questions and queries on projectors for additional peace of mind.

These bright widescreen and XGA models produce vibrant, natural looking images due to the built-in BrilliantColor™ multi-colour processing technology.  They have a powerful 10W speaker, Full 3D technology and can be easily connected via a HDMI cable to give a clear projected image with sound.

The impressively long lamp life and energy-saving features both contribute to a low overall cost of ownership.

The remote control with laser pointer will help teachers keep the attention of the class and there is the added benefit of using the optional wireless features of the WPS Wireless Adapter (sold separately).  This can be used to connect and display presentations wirelessly from a laptop, PC or mobile device.
