New DC400i Visualiser brings crystal clear detail to the classroom

London, 22 January 2014: Teachers, lecturers and educationalists will now be able to project crystal clear images of objects with astounding detail thanks to a new Visualiser just launched by award-winning projector specialists, Optoma.

The 14x optimal zoom and 16x digital zoom, together with the 5 migapixel camera, produces incredible detail to the tiniest objects.

Michelle Turner, ICT Strategic Leader at Barham Primary School, said: “I have used the Visualiser in the assembly hall.  It was incredibly easy to use.  Our pupils were much more attentive and engaged throughout the presentation due to the visuals.”

Suitable for classrooms, lecture theatres, boardrooms and auditoriums, the DC400i has two microscope adaptors allowing tiny objects to be seen by the whole audience.  It is also possible to capture and save images from the Visualiser either as a photograph or video.  These can be stored in the DC400i on-board memory or directly to a SD CARD, and can be easily transferred to a PC using the USB cable and software supplied.

The Visualiser has an excellent automatic focus with the manual focus also available when additional critical detail needs to be shown. The 20/30 frames-per-second video (at full resolution) shows detail often not visible to the human eye.

Justin Halls, Head of Product Management at Optoma commented, We designed the DC400i for ease of use but for maximum performance too.  The swan neck feature means that precise positioning is incredibly straightforward.  We also incorporated mercury-free LED lighting into the head to produce additional lighting when required. This can be switched off to save energy.”

Nicola Morgan, a Director at Politics Teacher Ltd said: “I use the Visualiser for presentations to employees at work. It is excellent to show ideas when developing resources.”
