Job Description

We are looking to enhance our operations with the addition of an experienced in-house legal counsel to support the Optoma Europe Ltd. business activities, which play a pivotal role in our global company and a lead for business transformation.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of implementing new processes and policies, as well as leading in the management of the commercial needs of the company in multiple jurisdictions. We are seeking a legal professional who can align with and support our EMEA business strategy by delivering practical in-house legal solutions and effective risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Optoma EMEA leadership and senior management team with commercial contracts and legal compliance across multiple regions
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts with both suppliers and clients
  • Support and guidance with all legal and litigious matters and monitoring regulatory developments
  • Support with general legal governance and compliance including GDPR, ISO and offering legal input on environmental compliance matters in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders in EMEA regions

Candidate Specification

Key Skills & Experience:

  • University degree in Law
  • Relevant practical experience in private practice, in-house in the UK or foreign qualified
  • Minimum 1-3 PQE
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent English drafting skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Client focused

Desirable:

  • GDPR/ISO 27001 experience
  • Employment law experience
  • Policy drafting/management experience
  • Second language: Fluent in French or German
  • Experience working with the distribution of goods across the EU/EEA is highly advantageous
