This is a hands-on, support-led role with a strong focus on 1st and 2nd line IT support, where you will be the frontline for resolving user issues across the business. You will work closely with senior engineers while taking ownership of day-to-day operational support, ensuring users remain productive and systems run smoothly.

Alongside support responsibilities, you will gain exposure to core infrastructure platforms including servers, cloud environments, virtualisation, identity services, and Microsoft 365, while contributing to ongoing improvement projects.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with users, and building strong foundations in IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

1st & 2nd Line Support

  • Act as a primary point of contact for IT support issues, handling a high volume of 1st and 2nd line tickets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to:
    • User access and account issues
    • Windows devices and hardware faults
    • Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
    • Networking and connectivity (VPN, Wi-Fi, DNS/DHCP basics)
    • Printers, meeting room technology, and peripherals
  • Escalate complex issues to the senior engineer where required, providing clear diagnostics and context.
  • Support both onsite users and remote workers across the EMEA region.

Infrastructure Support & Administration

  • Assist with monitoring, maintenance, and basic administration of Windows Server and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Support Active Directory tasks including user provisioning, group membership changes, and password resets.
  • Support routine system maintenance tasks, backup checks, and server health reviews.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate infrastructure documentation and configuration records.

Cloud & Microsoft 365 Support

  • Perform Microsoft 365 administration (licensing, mailbox setup, Teams/SharePoint access requests).
  • Help maintain SharePoint Online and OneDrive environments, including supporting data migrations.
  • Assist in onboarding/offboarding workflows across Azure AD and Microsoft 365.

Device Procurement, Setup & Lifecycle Management

  • Support the procurement process for IT devices by preparing quotes, placing orders through approved suppliers, and managing central procurement accounts.
  • Assist with budgeting activities by maintaining up‑to‑date records of device costs, refresh cycles, and upcoming requirements.
  • Perform laptop, desktop, and mobile device builds including imaging, Intune enrolment, configuration, and application deployment.
  • Prepare equipment for new starters, ensuring timely setup and adherence to company standards.
  • Contribute to maintaining, reviewing, and improving device refresh and procurement policies.

Asset Registry & Inventory Management

  • Maintain the IT asset registry, ensuring accurate tracking of devices, peripherals, and licence allocations.
  • Record new equipment, transfers, disposals, and lifecycle updates.
  • Assist with regular asset audits to ensure compliance and data accuracy.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Support monitoring of endpoint security alerts, antivirus/EDR notifications, and vulnerability reports (specifically Azure Sentinel).
  • Assist with the implementation of MFA, Conditional Access, and secure configuration standards.
  • Help maintain compliance documentation and contribute to security‑focused housekeeping tasks.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Strong interest in IT support, infrastructure, and cloud technologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support non-technical users.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to high-quality service delivery.
  • Organised, proactive, and eager to learn.

Essential

  • Experience in an IT support role (1st/2nd line or equivalent).
  • Understanding of Windows devices, Active Directory, networking basics (DNS, DHCP, VPN), and device setup processes.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Awareness of Azure AD/Entra ID concepts.
  • Experience using service desk/ticketing systems.
  • Comfortable working in environments aligned with ISO 27001.
