Optoma extends its commitment across the Middle East and Africa

Optoma EMEA has appointed Mohsin Abakhti as Sales Manager for its operations in the Middle East and Africa.

Mohsin has worked for Optoma for the last seven years as Key Account Manager for the Benelux region.  He was involved in establishing the Benelux office in The Netherlands and developed and grew Optoma’s presence in this region.

Nick Price, Optoma’s Territory Manager, said: “We are delighted to promote Mohsin to this role, reflecting our long-term commitment to these regions.  He brings a great deal of experience and will help to develop local channels to support key partners across the territories.  By investing more resources into the local area with our new reinforced team, we will forge greater partnerships and gain a better understanding of these markets.”

Married with two children, Mohsin is relishing the new challenge in his Dubai-based role.  He said: “Middle East and Africa represent growing markets that will have a real impact on the world economy.

“I am fortunate to join an already experienced and dedicated team and look forward to raising the profile of Optoma and really showing its commitment to this region.”

Mohsin will lead Optoma’s Middle East and Africa Sales Team joining Tarun Nebhnani and Omar Al-Jaff, who both have a wealth of experience in the Middle East and Africa regions.

Tarun has been based in Dubai for more than 12 years and joined Optoma in January 2012. He oversees sales & distribution management for the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq and Yemen.

Tarun said: “We have seen growth in this region and there is real potential this year across the education sector and in the run up to the Summer of Sport, with football fans preferring to watch the game on a big screen.”

Omar Al-Jaff is responsible for Regional Sales for Africa and the Levant Region. Based in its UK headquarters, Omar joined Optoma in June 2012.

Omar commented: “Each country across this region differs so much and it is important to understand the differences in the markets and cultures, which is why Optoma is strengthening its Middle East and Africa team.”
